I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. Although I grew up in church, it was not until my teen years that I realized the power and beauty of the gospel. When I turned 18, our family moved to Mexico City, where we had the privilege of planting a church. Five years later, I married my wonderful wife, Victoria. Together, we have served in full-time ministry for our whole marriage. We moved to Dallas in 2022, where our first son, David Timothy (Timo), was born.

While serving in Mexico, as the church grew I realized that healthy grow requires deep roots and self-denying leadership. Thus, we embarked on a journey to delve deep into the study of Scripture and theology in the context of our local church. I completed a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies in 2019. In the Fall of 2022, we moved to Dallas to complete the Th.M. program with a focus on New Testament studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.

I have recently started the Ph.D. program in Old Testament in the same institution with the hope of providing gospel-centered, theologically informed resources to the Spanish-speaking church worldwide. In short, I am convinced that deep theological education should never be separated from deep discipleship, that is, from the life of the church.

We joined Eastside soon after arriving in Dallas, and from the beginning, our hope as a family has been to contribute to the health of the body of Christ at Eastside in whatever measure the Lord would have us. Thus, my hope for Eastside is that we would be a church committed to growing together, by the power of the Spirit, into Christlikeness as we learn to love God above all and love others as Christ has loved us. In short, I hope that we would continually pursue a life saturated by the beauty of the gospel to the glory of God.
