Our STORY

The Village Church’s desire to plant churches merged with Adam Griffin’s desire to make disciples, and Eastside Community Church was born.

The leaders of The Village Church have felt a growing conviction to see the gospel go forth in DFW and beyond by planting churches near and far. This includes a church in East Dallas, where hundreds of individuals and families from The Village already reside.

Over the last several years, God has given Adam Griffin a burden to lead this church plant. As a pastor and long-time resident of East Dallas, Adam’s heart has grown heavy to see the gospel invade this beautiful, influential community that so desperately needs the Lord. With 15 years in ministry, having served at The Village Church for the last six years, we believe God has been preparing Adam and his family to plant Eastside Community Church.

It has been a privilege and pleasure to serve alongside Adam Griffin for the past 8 years. He has played many different roles at The Village Church and has excelled at them all. He is a man who leads and loves well. I am eager to see how God will use him as he plants a new Gospel work in East Dallas.
— MATT CHANDLER, Lead Pastor of The Village Church
I am beyond excited and thank the Lord that He called a responsible and faithful man like Adam to bring the Gospel to our unique community. I personally can’t wait to see how the Lord is going to transform lives through this new Gospel-centered congregation.
— ZACH GARZA, Founder and Executive Director of Forerunner Mentoring
I have witnessed the impact of Adam’s service in our community. Our city needs church leaders who understand the need to love Jesus, share the gospel and teach biblically, and I believe Adam will follow these principles to impact our community in amazing ways.

Meet the Griffins

Adam and his wife, Chelsea, have been married since 2010, and God has blessed them with three incredible sons: Oscar, Gus and Theodore. Adam has been in ministry for almost half his life and served as a family minister, student minister, school teacher, Young Life leader, speaker and, for the last five years, as an elder, pastor and executive at The Village Church. He has completed a Master’s in Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Certificate of Youth and Family Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Doctorate of Educational Ministry in Executive Leadership at Southern Seminary.

Adam Griffin first drew my respect when he mentored my oldest son as a high school student. Working alongside him for the past five years has only deepened and expanded that respect. He is prodigiously gifted as a communicator and a leader, characterized by wisdom, intuition, and a deeply pastoral heart. I am grateful for his voice and his vision.
— JEN WILKIN, author of Women of the Word and None Like Him
Adam has reached out and developed relationships with neighborhood schools and engaged with other community based organizations in order to spread the gospel. His courage, personal warmth and passion for the Gospel will serve him well as he leads the church planting effort in East Dallas. I could not think of a better Christian man to lead a new church than Adam Griffin.
— JIM TREBILCOCK, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Dr Pepper Snapple Group
I knew, as soon as I met him, that he definitely had what it takes. I couldn’t be more excited for the people who God will reach through Adam. He has the gifts and passion to be a great church planter. I am sure that if I lived in his area and was looking for a church, I would sign up in a heartbeat.”
